Here at BTC we believe that every child can have a growing relationship with Jesus, and BTC Kids provides a fun and safe environment for children from babies through to year 6 to encounter Jesus in a creative and relevant way.
We would love to see you and your family visit BTC Kids.
Your first visit
We know that it can be a big experience for children to come somewhere new, so here is what to expect when you visit BTC Kids for the first time:
As you come through our doors you will see a sign-in table manned by a team member in a BTC Kids t-shirt. Come and say "hello" and we will meet your family and check your child into our system. Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your personal data and will not share this information with anyone and we ensure it is kept securely):
- Parent/guardian name(s)
- Child's name
- Child's birthdate
- Home address
- Phone number
- Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children
On their first visit we understand if you would like to see where your children are going so please feel free to accompany them to their age-appropriate group to see them settled before joining the main service if you would prefer to do this, otherwise one of our team members will take them to join the fun!
How check-in works
Before the service: You can check-in your child at the desk in the entrance hallway. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name labels that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name label portion while you hold on to the matching receipt.
After the service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your receipt in order for your child to be released back to you.
During the service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen. We ask that you exit the main hall immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.
FOUNDATIONS - 0-4 years
Our youngest members of the church family enjoy a fun space dedicated to help them meet Jesus. The children have a specially created programme of activities based around a monthly theme from the Bible.
The team open the doors at around 10:30am, and your children are welcome in the main hall for the first part of the main service which starts at 10am. We will check in your children at 10:30am and you will need to collect them at the end of the service.
A typical morning will include time for free play, a Bible story while the children enjoy a drink and a biscuit, a craft or activity to reinforce our Bible theme, and time to praise and pray together.
Our team is committed to serving parents, babies, toddlers and preschoolers to help establish the foundations for faith.
FLAME, FUSION & FORTITUDE - Reception-Year 6
BTC Kids for primary school aged children takes place in our dedicated upstairs space. Each morning includes a service created to enable the children to build relationship with Jesus and with each other, through a programme of games and activities, worship, Bible teaching and group discussion. The BTC Kids team passionately believe that every child can encounter Jesus and be impacted by his good news.
We start at 9:50am once check-in opens in the hallway entrance of the church. Parents will need to collect their children at the end of the service by heading upstairs.
From 9:50am the children meet all together, and are able to catch up over a social time with games and activities, building their friendships with each other and the team. Our service then includes lively worship, and age-appropriate teaching which could include videos, drama and even science experiments! From 11am the children split into their specific age groups (Flame: Reception-Year 2, Fusion: Years 3-4, and Fortitude: Years 5-6) for snacks, discussion, prayer and encouragement, before returning together.
All of our BTC Kids teams have up-to-date DBS certificates enabling them to work safely wth children.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: during the COVID-19 crisis, while services are suspended, BTC Kids will be resourcing our families with suggested family activities that can be done together to help children encounter God during this unprecedented time. Please see ideas below to help you find something that will work for your family as you seek to engage with God's word together in new ways.
